One of our favourite pastimes in the build up to Christmas is all the wonderful festive shopping opportunities that exist, and in particular, the very many Christmas markets that are open in the build up to the big day.
We love experiencing all the wonderful crafts, gifts and of course the seasonal food and drink on offer at this time of year. We’ve rounded up a few of the festive markets that are happening locally in the run up to Christmas.
Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market
There’s something for everyone with over a hundred twinkling festive chalets, local gifts and produce, bars, global street food, seasonal entertainment and free entry into the awesome Exeter Cathedral, including the Light of Hope Star installation by artist Peter Walker.
Magdalen Road Christmas Fair
This annual Christmas fair is organised by the St Leonard’s Neighbourhood Association. Magdalen Road's shops and restaurants are joined by 50 stalls from all over the West Country and the event features street food, drinks, live music, fairground rides and Christmas shopping.
Love Local Christmas Market
Every Thursday during the run-up to Christmas Day, the Love Local Christmas Market will take place at John Lewis. From artisan-baked bread and exceptional deli produce to coffee, small-batch spirits, hot sauce, luxury chocolates, handmade gifts and even pet supplies, we guarantee you'll find something you'll love, from brands you won't see on the high street.
