There are snowdrops popping up all around town so we’re fairly certain that spring is right around the corner.

Search for Bluebells
There is nothing more synonymous with spring than a carpet of gorgeous bluebells and here are some of the best places to spot them.

Wild Swimming
Get back to nature with a spot of wild swimming this spring. Known for its health benefits and a chance to appreciate the local surroundings, some popular spots are.
Much of the river Exe is not really suitable for wild swimming but the section of Exeter Canal near The Turf Hotel is perfect for a dip.

Brampford Speke, 5 miles north of Exeter
Easter Chicks?
They may not be able to guarantee any Easter chicks but at Darts Farm RSPB Nature Reserve you’ll see flocks of finches, tits, fieldfares, song thrushes, blackbirds and redwings.
Watch the wetlands for brent and Canada geese, teals, wigeons, black-tailed godwits, snipe, curlew and lapwings. It’s a lovely day out in beautiful surroundings.
Spring Racing
With a series of Afternoon Race Meets throughout February, March and April, there’s plenty to enjoy at Exeter race course this spring.
As well as the live action racing, it’s the perfect family day out with lots of food, activities and extra highlights including a glitter bar, climbing wall and a visit from Curious Creatures.
With ample free parking on site, a huge range of bars, restaurants and pop ups, as well as family-friendly facilities, it’s a great place to be.
